I've got peace like a river...

Let me bring you up to speed...

1. My last 'working' day was Friday June 26, which happened to be Scott and I's 10th anniversary. What a day of rejoicing!

2. On Saturday June 27 we left for Beulah! The girls stayed with the folks and enjoyed their very first Beulah camp experience.

3. On Sunday June 28 at 3:00 am Scott and I left for New York City! We arrived to our hotel around 1:00 and after a little nap we ventured by foot to explore the big city. Much to our surprise, we truly and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the Big Apple. Central Park was gorgeous and amazing! What we found to be strange is that although the city is huge, it seemed so small at the same time. So...don't be afraid to go and even take your children.

4. On Monday June 29 Scott and I set sail on the Carnival Triumph for a 5 day cruise! That night at dinner we instantly made new friends with Gabe & Angela from Calgary, Alberta Canada who were honeymooning. We quickly found out they were devout Christians and we shared the same ideals of what it means to be a believer in Jesus. God is so good! The ship docked in St. John and Halifax Canada on two different days. Highly recommend this particular cruise!

5. On Saturday July 4 we made it back to Beulah Beach in plenty of time to take in all the different fireworks displays by sitting on the "hill" (i.e. Vermilion, Huron, Cedar Point, etc.). It was priceless!

Many people have asked me what was the best part of our vacation. Given the fact Scott doesn't really like to vacation away from his yard and garage, the best part was that we equally enjoyed every single minute of every single day together. It was such a blessing and I have found out since being home we had many prayers being offered up that our time together would be amazing. God is so good and cares about all of the details, no matter how big or small.

Since being home, I have been enjoying the domestic life like groceries, laundry, cleaning, organizing, and PlaYiNG! Maybe the "domestic honeymoon" will soon end. Nevertheless I am trying to remind myself there will always be a "to do list." What I have been calling my "new life" is supposed to be more about focusing on the girls, as I am learning to be an "intentional parent" not achieving all of my "To Do's." With all of that said, the Lord is faithful and continues to confirm this new direction for my life and for my family. So...

I've got peace like a river,
I've got peace like a river,
I've got peace like a river in my soul.
