In August of 1995 both Scott and I moved onto the campus of Mount Vernon Nazarene College (now Mount Vernon Nazarene University). We met move-in weekend in the lobby of the girls freshman dorm. Scott and his friend, Darrell, were 'supposedly' looking for used textbooks on the bulletin boards when Scott 'casually' introduced himself to my roommate Amy and I. When they left, Amy told me that Scott and I would start dating within the next two weeks. I guess she could sense the chemistry from that first moment.
About a week later during the annual Luau, Scott came up to Amy and myself and I asked him if he was going to the soccer game. I always joke that I made the first move! While at the soccer game, Scott was constantly approached by various girls so I was not impressed; however, he told me that all of the girls were from his church. I didn't believe him at first, but it was true! Besides that, one of the girls was his sister, one was his cousin and believe it or not, one was his former girlfriend. Scott and I began to hangout, getting to know one another and needless to say, we fell hard for one another. We dated for four years before marrying on June 26, 1999.
