Art Festival

We went to the school's Spring Arts Festival last weekend at the specific invite from the art teacher, Mrs. B.  It turns out one of Kate's projects was selected from the entire first grade for an Outstanding Art Achievement Award.  Her project was matted and framed by the school and will adorn the school hallways until she leaves to go to the middle school.  She was completely surprised!

We then walked around to find the girls' other pieces.

The best part of this day was when we got back into the car to go home and Scott told Kate he was so proud of her.  He said he was impressed with her artwork but he was more impressed that she clapped for each of the other award winners from the other grades when the other students did not.  What warmed my heart was the fact her dad noticed this and made sure to mention it to her.
