1. Subbing in Kindergarten: Where shall I begin? WOW! This week was K Registration so the teachers were involved in screening new students for the next year. I spent my mornings subbing in Anna's classroom and my afternoons subbing in the classroom across the hall. What a blessing to be in the same two rooms with the same students each day. What a blessing to be with Anna's class. What a blessing to be back in the classroom. When I started on Monday I was determined to jot notes to myself throughout the week so I could record the funnies; however, I was moving so fast trying to stay two steps ahead I just didn't have time. HA! Therefore, I can't even begin to fully summarize the experience and all the funny things that happened this week with the kids. Knock, Knock jokes that were not funny but the students were rolling on the floor laughing, the Asperger's student who melted my heart each day with his sweet innocense, the difficult student who would poop in his pants for attention-even if it was negative attention, review of 100's of bumps/bruises/mosquito bites/paper cuts/sore tummies/etc, flooding toilets, birthday cupcakes with crumbs all over the carpet, being told 100+ times how you are not doing it like the teacher, 3 music program practices (could start a whole other list with this alone), recess duty, the precious little girl who doesn't get it and is dirty from head to toe but has the sweetest spirit and got new glasses that are so thick they make her eyes a little "buggyish" looking, +5 or +10 at recess, loving on teachers to try and brighten their day via c.h.o.c.a.l.a.t.e., the "teachers lounge", school lunch, a teacher who I am thinking has lost the love of teaching, a teacher who completely loves teaching, Show & Tell, etc. This list, while lengthy, still doesn't capture all the fun and funny moments. The kids would say the funniest, funniest things. It is interesting because when I was teaching I would sometimes get pulled to "sub" in K until a last minute sub was able to come. I hated subbing in K and would tell my principal to only pull me if he seriously didn't have someone else. Now, I love K and Preschool. Gotta love life! It is like learning to love the sauerkraut or asparagus as you get older. I would go back in a heartbeat!
2. My eye: If you are a FB friend you might have noticed me requesting prayer several times this last week. Contrary to what you may have thought, I wasn't requesting prayer for my subbing but for my eye. I struggle with dry eyes. They were so bad I struggled with sleeping in fear of what would happen when I would open my eyes. In case you don't know, when you have dry eyes your eyelid sticks to your eyeball and so when you open your eyes a piece of your eye sticks to your eyelid. Gross I know but it is what happens! The problem then is that you feel as though you have something stuck in your eye. It is extremely, extremely painful. My eye would be irritated for anywhere between 45 to 90 minutes. I thought on Wedneday morning I might have to call in to the school for a "sub for the sub." However, the prayers of my faithful friends truly carried me through the week and I would receive relief so I could fullfil my commitment. On Wednesday after school I went to see my optomologist and he said I had a significant abrasion due to the dry eye on my right eye's cornea. My left eye was also aggitated but not nearly as severe. He told me to begin using ointment and drops. Wow...what a difference! Thank you friends for your prayers!
3. Friends: I thought I would allow the girls to each invite a friend over tonight. It would keep them entertained and I would be able to relax. Not a good idea when one girl's friend could come and the other one couldn't. Anna and I worked to make No Bakes. Bad idea! I am not the cookie maker. They turned out to be fudgy no bake cookies.
3. Confirmation: The Lord is not calling me back into full time work. I sincerely enjoyed myself but I didn't hardly see my husband. I was so exhausted each night that every little thing that was normal life seemed so much bigger. My house suffered. Our family is just not ready for me to go back to work full time, especially with Scott working second shift. I am okay and at peace with this confirmation.
4. I love, love, love my husband!: He is so precious and giving. When he would get home in the middle of the night he would check on me. When I would be upset and crying because of my eye, he would bring me a hot washcloth and Advil. He unloaded the dishwasher. He put away the laundry. Today he woke up earlier than usual so he could pick up Subway and have lunch with all three of his girls. I missed him this week but my heart is overflowing with love, admiration, and respect!
Here are a few pictures from Anna's music program:
What is so funny is the fact that Anna is quite the drama queen!
She didn't hardly even smile!
The last picture is the best...she looks miserable!
Hilarious!

WOW! What a week you had. I'll keep praying for you. I hope you have a relaxing weekend and are able to spend some time with Scott. He is awesome for taking care of you. A great husband! Love the pics, too. :) I smiled looking at them. Was Anna having stage fright?
Amy...you are so sweet. It wasn't stage fright though...it was more like she was bored. Hahahaha!!!
