By using Mozilla Firefox I have been able to get some photos uploaded. YEAH!! I am just going to post some pics of our summer fun!
The girls became fast friends with our neighbors at Beulah. They performed a "show", Cinderella specifically, for the adults. All of the children had the best time as they planned the staging, props, etc. Anna was Cinderella and she is kissing her prince. The boys were the mice. Kate was the wicked step-mother. The older girl, who you can barely see in the back, was the director.
These are the carrots we grew in our garden.
One of our fun excursions included a visit to a Children's Garden in Lima. It made me want to learn more about gardening. Lucky for me, we went in August so I have a year to read, learn, and plan so I don't get too overwhelmed with a new project.
Fatime, our dear friend from Mali, came for a surprise visit! She went with us to the Children's Garden. She has a contract with Hallmark. The stores sell her Malian goods so she was in the States on business. I love Fatime as though she were my own sister. Check out her goodies at your local Hallmark store!
We took the girls to the Drive-In and had a blast. Anna fell asleep before the movie was over but Kate's pure determination fueled her to the end. We saw Ice Age 2. Previews started at 9:00 but the movie didn't really begin until closer to 9:30. This is such a cheap and enjoyable way to spend a summer evening!
Since I started my "New Life" I have been itching to purge , reorder, simplify, etc. my house. One of my favorite girlies came over one day and helped me with rearranging my living room. I just love that girl to pieces! In order to keep the children busy while we worked, we made playdough! What a blast and I LOVE my new living room arrangement. The girls had some fun too!
Well, this certainly doesn't truly sum up all the fun we have had this summer but it gives you a glance.
