The Human Body

The last couple of weeks in Science we have been studying the Human Body.  It has been interesting!  Hahaha!  In a very first grade and second grade way, we have learned about the major systems of the body, including the digestive system and excretory system.  I have never talked about poop so much with the girls as I have during these past two weeks.  By the way, my friends have always thought I was kinda silly but we call it "dirty" instead of "poop."  I ask the girls if they need to go "dirty" instead of "poop."  Now, I have no problems with the word "poop" but just figured that I am raising ladies so we might as well start at the very beginning.  "Dirty" just seemed like a great alternative.  Now that that is said, we have actually been talking about POOP and it has been hilarious.  Since they have learned exactly what it is, here is how it goes...

Mom, we are having Wendy's for dinner?
Yes.
Wow, I hope our digestion system is really working good.  We are going to be pooping a lot of our dinner tonight.

Similar conversations have been had in the opposite side of the coin if we have had a more healthy dinner.
Hil.Ar.I.Ous!

We are equally enthralled with the words bladder, urethra, and urine.  Tonight Kate came out to me while I was making dinner and announced, "Mom, I just urined!"  Hahahaha!!  Here is a picture of our "body model" with the systems... (check back because I guess I didn't take the picture and thought I had)

Even though we have certainly had many, many giggles over our study it has been amazing.  Kate learned about the basic cell structure.  She said, "Mom, this is like the Trinity!  Three parts in one!"  She also said, "Mom, I don't know how people don't believe in God.  Our body's are amazing!"  WOW!!  What insight for such a young girl who is only beginning her learning journey.  It just reminds me of the scripture Romans 14:11 which says, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."  If you aren't bowing and confessing because you don't recognize He created you and desires a relationship with you, you will be someday.  I am speechless by those who think they can reason away our Creator.  Hmmm?  I just don't even know what to say.  If you don't know Him personally, please ask Him to make Himself known to you.  Also, let me know and I will pray for you.  No pressures to jump through "salvation" hoops.  Just ask Him and be ready to see....
