"Sometimes we confuse our behavior with our identity. If we mess up, we think that's who we really are - a loser or a failure. But when we know who we are and to Whom we belong, we can see when our behavior is consistent or inconsisten with who we are. When we know the truth, we won't be on an emotional roller coaster trying to use 'good' behavior to please our families so they will affirm that we are an 'OK' person. We are already 'OK' because God said so. Our behavior only has to please Him. Now we can do the right thing for the right reason because we are an all right person."
Romans 8:12-13
So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh..for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

This sounds like me! I am occasionally calling myself a loser and a failure. Thanks so much for sharing. I may need to do this study.
