{creating}

Scott's grandparents have been married over 60 years.  We celebrated both of their birthdays today.  Grandpa is turning 82.  I am not sure about Grandma.  What do you get grandparents for birthday gifts?  I am not sure so I made them this...

In case you are curious, I cut a piece of fabric that would fit into the frame.  I printed a picture onto photo paper.  It wasn't a high quality print.  I thought I might try sewing the picture onto the fabric.  Once I did it I fell in love with the effect.  It made the picture look like it was printed on fabric.  I cut the letters out using templates and then pressed them onto the fabric by using Heat-n-Bond.  I made some yo-yos and hot glued those on to the frame after I had it all assembled.   I forgot to mention I also sewed some decorative lines on the fabric for an extra effect.  If you click on the picture you might be able to see those better.  I was surprised with how nice it turned out because I was just kindof playing around and actually getting a little stressed because I didn't know what I was going to end up with and didn't have time or $$ to buy something.  Another idea to keep in the "gift idea bank!"
