After wrapping up a long day back to work from the extended weekend I tried to go to the kitchen to begin dinner. I say "tried" because Kate insisted that she was working on a surprise and basically ordered me to remain in my office or bedroom. Finally she shouted that I could come out of confinement. The lights were turned off and then all of a sudden two precious girls jumped out of nowhere and yelled "Surprise!" They flipped on the lights and I was greeted with a table of food, complete with table service, drinks, and napkins. Amazing! You will see that Kate very proudly presented her own recipe: Carrot Tacos that included soft tortilla, coarsely chopped carrots, crunched up nachos, and sour cream. Sidedishes included toast and apples. It was a marvelous feast!

I LOVE THIS! How sweet! Thanks for posting it - it's a great reminder for me to appreciate those sweet & thoughtful gestures from my girls. The other day I got "breakfast in bed" - it was much like your dinner. Even though they made a mess in the kitchen, I tried my best not to focus on that but on their loving, tender hearts and their pleasure at doing something nice for me. :)
Your girls are just precious!
Hugs,
Amy
This is so adorable Cara!! Brings back memories of when my sister, brother and I tried, I mean made a wonderful meal, for our parents :)
