Whirlwind Week

This week has seemed like a month as Scott and I started back to work on Monday. Over Christmas break, I signed up to be a Pampered Chef Consultant and all of my goodies arrived on Tuesday. So FUN!! Wednesday night at work Scott found out that Honda was going to be cutting more hours of production. Fifteen minutes after discussing it on Thursday over a cup of coffee around noon, the superintendent of my school called and offered me a promotion. I accepted! The previous Special Education Manager left to take a different job. As you might have guessed, this changed the course for the rest of my work week and I was in full swing, trying to keep up on the fast paced treadmill I had just been thrown on! :) Needless to say, I didn't squeeze in too many extra fun activities with the girls this week. However, here are a few of their comments I remember:

~ Anna was playing UNO with her grandma. She is very good and knows how to use the "good" cards. She was truly skunking my mom. At one point she told grandma, "I have powerful cards."

~ Kate has fallen prey to some teasing at school over a boy. While in the lunchroom (Scott had gone in to have lunch with her) the students began to say in typical sing-songy voice, "Kate is Dawson's girlfriend." Now, Dawson is our neighbor boy who is going to be an absolute hunk when he grows up. Ironically, the day this happened I was going to pick Dawson up from school because his mom was busy after school. I wasn't sure what was going to happen once we got into the car. Dawson didn't seem phased in the least as Kate began to tell me the story of what had happened. In fact, he had a sweet smirk on his face the whole time and at one point even said, "I told Evan that." Kate wasn't impressed because she really hates to feel embarrassed. Later that night during dinner Dawson announced that he would like to marry Kate. OH MY!!
