1. First off, Scott and I have been teaching once a month in our church's 4 & 5 yr old class. I was really struggling with some needed adjustments to make the whole experience better and more positive for the teachers and students. I didn't want to sound as though I was complaining without being willing to step in to help so I asked our Childrens/Youth Pastor if he needed help and I would be willing to help. Last week we met for the first time to talk about some of the needed changes. It was so uplifting and incredibly exciting. We are exploring a new curriculum-YAHOO, as well as little tweaks that would make a big difference in how the program would run.
2. Secondly, a gal who I used to work with at OHVA and now works for a county ESC (Educational Service Center) called me last week to see if I would be interested in facilitating a professional development workshop for teachers on differentiated instruction. Let me tell you....this is a dream come true! For real! I have been exploring, reading, brainstorming, and preparing for this incredible opportunity.
