A Little Randomness

1.  Can you have the best of both worlds?  I am feeling like it right now!  We have started our homeschool co-op classes!!  I LOVE it!!  My girls are taking a drawing class and an Apologia Human Anatomy & Physiology class.  The material and teachers are A.MAY.ZING!!  YES!!  I love their enthusiasm each week as we pile into the car with our loads and loads of stuff.  Today they rushed right home to start working on their homework for art.  YES!!  I LOVE IT!!  I love that they have the opportunity to stay "in tune" with a classroom experience, respecting other adults in authority, "socialize" (yes, I am snickering) with their peers, and have something fun to learn in the meantime.  An added bonus for me.....I get to TEACH a class!  I love it!  I teach the Kinders and first graders about the human body.  A.MAY.ZING!!  We are having so much fun.  These little learners are incredibly funny and delightful.  Today to kill some time we played freeze dance, one of my all time favorites!  These kids crack me up with all of their un-inhibited dance moves.  Made me smile from ear to ear!

2.  Tonight we had a new, really yummy sandwich.  At Trader Joe's in the freezer dept there is frozen, marinated grilled eggplant and zuchinni.  So, here's the deal....get some yummy crusty bread and cut in half.  Drizzle with some EVOO and sprinkle on some garlic salt, oregano, and basil.  Defrost the eggplant and zuchinni in the microwave then place a layer or two on the bottom half of the bread.  Saute some mushrooms and onions and place on top of the other veggies.  I didn't have any roasted red peppers on hand but if I had I probably would have layered some of those on there too.  I put on some fresh garden tomatoes, spinach, and italian cheese mixture.  Put it under the broiler in the oven and watch carefully.  (Note....Next time I might have first put the sandwich in the oven at 400 to warm it really good throughout and crust up the outside of the bread real good, then take it out and add the tomatos, spinach, and cheese.)  We dipped it in warmed up Prego sauce.  Serious yum!!

3.  This week we have been heading north to the Hardin Co. Fair.  It is one of my favorite weeks of the year.  Crazy?  Maybe.  But I love the fair.  It is like a huge reunion, when the county comes together to pull off a grand event of fun and community.  I love seeing people I haven't seen either for a year or even more.  Last night one of my pals from 4-H camp came up to me.  Had he not come up to me I might not have recognized him.  It had been like at least 16 years since I had seen him.  It was so great!  I just love it!  Plus the food is incredibly yummy!

4.  God is so incredibly faithful.  I can't go into any specifics but lately I feel like I have been totally poured on.  Not a full-fledged storm, but definitely a tarential downpour.  However, God's blessings and the opportunities to just give Him praise are abounding all around me.  Some have been as simple as receiving a tissue box from a friend in which she wrote verses such as "Come all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest."  (hilarious!) and other love notes to me.  Some have been as huge as receiving a free ticket to attend the Beth Moore event a few weekends ago.  He is preparing me.  He is preparing Scott.  He is preparing our family.  Sometimes in the process of being prepared, it hurts.  But His loving kindness always abounds.  His plan is always the best plan.  Glory to His Name!

5.  I got a lesson plan book and I hope it works.  I have a million ideas running through my head regarding school and what I would love to accomplish this year but I need to get it all organized.  The thought of doing so is exillerating and exhausting all at the same time.  Wish me luck!

6.  At the start of the school year and since it is fair week I begin to be reminded that I really need to hone in my habits concerning eating and exercising.  UGH!  I have recently found a blog that is kindof inspiring.  It is called 100 Days of Real Food.  Exercising....yeah....I need to do something.  Maybe I should try tabata.  Hmmmmm?  Several women at church have started running.  Hmmmm?
What about a really great workout video the girls and I could have fun doing together?  Hmmmm?  Still just thinking about all this.  Hopefully I get past the thinking stage.

7.  I have been trying to get myself to go to bed earlier and get up earlier.  So far it's been going so-so.  Working on it....

8.  Today has been comforting in one sense but a little disheartening in another.  Sometimes I like a dreary day.  It kindof forces you to slow down, take it easy, not be go, go, go.  However, I hate to think that before I know it there is going to be too many of these days to count.  Hmmmm....maybe then I won't be so excited about co-op.  I better get some great books with ideas for indoor activities to keep those little learners happy and engaged!

9.  I learned recently that one of my friends' parents is navigating towards a personal relationship with Christ.  This always makes me rejoice!  Especially when you know they have truly counted the cost of what it means to repent, turning away from a lifestyle full of sin that brought disillusioned comfort.

10.  Lastly, I am no June Cleaver.  Nope.  Nada.  Never.
