Eli Whitney

I have laughed so much this week thanks to Mr. Whitney.  I am going to guess you remember the all important fact that Mr. Whitney invented the cotton gin.  Do you know why this is an important fact that has been engrained to each of our minds?  Do you even know what the cotton gin actually does?  Do you know anything else about Mr. Whitney, such as whether he was a slave or not?  I have learned so much more about him this week and the whole experience just really tickled my funny bone.  Tell me what you know and I will send you something special.  :)  No cheating!
